A Criminal Lawyer Is An Asset To The Accused

There are some people who have a great disdain for anyone who is willing to defend someone who has been accused of murder or rape. In their eyes, the attorney is doing the victim and their families a huge disservice. However, what they are overlooking is the reality that just because a person is accused of something, doesn't necessarily mean they are guilty. Therefore, the job of a criminal lawyer should not be shunned. This mindset goes to show that there are many who don't really believe in the phrase "innocent until proven guilty in the court of law."

People who have been accused of crimes have just as much of a right to legal representation as the person who is making the accusation. There are many people who have been wrongly accused of harsh crimes, and they are sitting in jail to this day. Sadly, some people are actually mean and bitter enough to bring false accusations against other people.

For instance, a woman could catch her boyfriend cheating with her best friend. Naturally, she gets extremely angry, and rightfully so. She decides to get back at him by making his life miserable. So, she burns all of his clothing, makes embarrassing posts about him on the internet and badmouths him to all of his friends and family members. However, she doesn't just stop there. She then decides that she will pretend that he raped her. In her mind, this will be the ultimate payback.

Now, imagine if this situation was to happen and the boyfriend didn't have the right to hire a criminal lawyer. He would really have no chance in court. Although he is truly innocent, he still would need help convincing the judge and jury.

Then, there are those who have actually committed crimes. Contrary to what some may believe, they have every right to a criminal lawyer. This includes rapists, murderers, child molesters and serial killers. This isn't because they have necessarily earned the right to an attorney, but it is an inherited right that all United States citizens have attained. So, although many would not agree with the idea, the aforementioned group of criminals is entitled to legal representation like any other.

A criminal lawyer is also beneficial because this representative helps his or her clients get the easiest penalty possible. This is one reason that many people have received life imprisonment instead of the death penalty, or 20 years in jail as opposed to a life sentence.

Although many do not agree, the job of a criminal lawyer is necessary. Not only do they help those who have been falsely accused, but they also advocate for those who may have actually committed crimes.

  3. Criminal lawyers are there to protect a person’s rights. It’s the lawyer’s job to safeguard the innocent from punishment and to protect the client’s rights when found guilty. :)

  4. Criminal lawyers are important in times of facing serious charges. Bad mistakes can stay on your record permanently. If the proper steps aren't taken, a terrible situation can become worse. Time spent in jail can never be replaced. No matter how guilty you may be, Hawaii Criminal Lawyers OR Hawaii DUI can make the situation a lot better. With so many attorneys out there, it can be difficult deciding whom to trust. It's critical that you hire someone with years of experience and successful results. Your time won't be wasted and you'll be back to regular life as soon as possible.

  6. Every person have their own views about Defense Lawyer Miami as some says these are beneficial and other says it is not. Well in my views it should be there as if you are innocent then you need to have rights to place your views and innocence in front of jury.

  7. Indeed. A valuable asset indeed. for many people are accused of a crime and enough "evidence" is gathered up to "prove" that that person has committed the crime and then it's found that the person in fact did not 20, 30 or 60 years later. This is a common error in today's judicial system. Don't let them fool you into signing anything. Only do and listen per what your lawyer advises you to do. I personally recommend the DUI defense attorney of Colorado Springs< CO, but any would do.

  10. Thanks for sharing, and my aunt used to work as a criminal lawyer. And she would talk about the people that would come and ask for help, and she would turn them down. And the reason behind it was behind the people that would ask for help actually needed to be looking for a civil lawyer and not a criminal lawyer. And she said that that actually happened quite a bit.

  11. My friend, sadly, needed an attorney for some stupid thing that happened when he was living in Edmonton. I helped him find a pretty good criminal lawyer to help. Someone tried to sue him for animal cruelty because he tried to get sheep to pull a sleigh for his kid.

  12. This idea that the lawyer representing the defendant is the bad guy too causes me great frustration. He is not only doing his job, but the motto innocent until proven guilty is strong here. Every person has just as much right to tell their side of the story as the next. And that stereotype can be taken both ways. I recently went through the courts for a family matter and wither I was the plaintiff or the defendant, I could have been looked down upon as if I was the bad guy because the other person was in disagreement with me.

  17. Criminal defense attorneys are the attorneys that represent people charged with criminal conduct or have had a lawsuit filed against them. Criminal defense attorneys who concentrate their practice on criminal defense often know the prosecutors involved, can get concessions that other attorneys miss, have probably handled cases similar to yours and can better advise you of your options.

  24. Thanks for reminding people that just because you are accused of a crime doesn't mean you are guilty! I have a friend that was accused with felony assault charge by someone that used to be his friend. The friend had gotten mad at him and decided, like in your example, to get back at him by bringing up a fake charge. A good lawyer can help prove your innocence.

  25. You're so right when you say a lawyer is the biggest asset to the accused! I mean, lawyers are equipped with experience and knowledge to approach the judge with evidence to get your charges dropped. If anything, a lawyer pays for itself with getting fines and fees dropped!

  26. I can definitely see why a criminal attorney is necessary. We live in a government where everyone is entitled to some sort of protection. Even if the criminal is guilty, they still need to be protected from being overcharged or being charged for the wrong crime. Without defense attorneys we wouldn't have a fully just society. http://russjoneslaw.net/services.html

  27. I think your reasoning is spot on. If there is a crime involved, hiring an attorney can only help. People are generally afraid of the fees and complications that can sometimes come with lawyers, but it's important to remember that attorneys can actually make your life much easier if you pick the right man for the job. 33. I think you make a very good point. Everyone should be fairly represented, even the criminals in this country. I heard a really good quote from a judge once that said something to the effect of "My job is to separate the truly evil, from the truly stupid". I think that completely fair, because honestly, some people just make mistakes.
